| Howell Connell "Hal" Birdwell HOWELL CONNELL"HAL" BIRDWELL April 6, 1943 ~ September 6, 2010 Howell passed away on September 6, 2010 after a courageous fight with pulmonary fibrosis. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather as well as a true friend to many. A Viet Nam war veteran and Purple Heart recipient, he had many passions over the years including riding Harley's, foster parenting, street rods, and genealogy. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Judy; son and daughter in law, Rod and Laura; daughter Teresa; sons Cris and Greg; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Sydney, and Samuel. He is also survived by his four brothers and sisters, Jean, Billy, James, and Joy. A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. on September 10, 2010 at Willamette National Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life in Vancouver at Hamilton Hall in the Grant House on Officer's Row. |
